Reporting of the Conveyance of Goods (RCG)

Understanding the meaning and reason of RCG. Explaining the registration process, role players, reports, timeframes, processes, and non-compliance.

In the ever-changing environment of international trade, there is a major drive to move away from “manual” processes and documentation to electronic. This does not only apply to the private sector but also government departments, etc., and one that does not escape this in SARS Customs.

Over several years SARS Customs have rolled out their Reporting of the Conveyance of Goods (RCG). This program requires certain parties to report electronically on various aspects of the movement, handing, release, etc. of goods in international trade. To ensure that those respective parties are aware of their obligations, we have put together a workshop covering the following important areas:

  • What RCG is
  • Whom does it apply to
  • The registration process
  • Messages/reports
  • Timeframes
  • Process
  • Non-compliance

Who should do this course?

This workshop is directed at carriers, freight forwarders, unpack depots, de-group depots, container depots, transit sheds road carriers and customs brokers.
